We were so excited to welcome our first grandchild on Tuesday, June 30, 2009! Her name is Kenna Leigh Winn, and she was born in Richmond, Virginia to McKenzie and Nate. She was born around 6 pm, weighed 6 lbs 8 oz, and measured 19 1/2 inches long. Brig and I few to Richmond on Tuesday, arriving in Richmond late in the evening. We rented a car and drove to McKenzie and Nate's house, where we stayed overnight while they were at the hospital with their new baby. On Wednesday morning, we drove to the hospital to see all of them. Kenna is the sweetest thing imaginable! She is calm, expressive, alert, and rarely cries. (We think they've got it easy with this one!) We are as thrilled as can be to welcome Kenna into our family, and are so thrilled that we were able to see her soon after her birth. Kenzie and Nate are very sweet with Kenna, and are doing a great job as parents!
There's nothing as wonderful as welcoming a new baby!
Yay!!! Congrats Grandma and Grandpa!!! (Haha, how does it feel?) I'm so excited for you all. Wish we could have been there to see her!
